Food Classes

£2 per class entry

Class 1: A jar of jam – any fruit.
Class 2: A jar of marmalade – savoury or sweet.
Class 3: Pickles, chutneys or ketchups.
Class 4: A beautifully presented cake- your choice.
Class 5: Shortbread, we are looking for the most melt in your mouth morsels.
Class 6: Six cupcakes decorated with flowers, vegetables or animals. Use your imagination! *UNDER 12 CLASS*
Class 7: Bread – bring us your flavoured focaccia

Flowers Classes

£2 per class entry

Class 8: 5 stems of any garden rose
Class 9: Small seasonal table arrangement of garden flowers.
Class 10: Large seasonal arrangement of garden flowers and foliage.
Class 11: Sweet Peas – approx. 9 stems.
Class 12: Dahlias – 5 mixed or single variety.
Class 13: Pelargoniums or geraniums in a pot.
Class 14: Scented arrangement. We are looking for greenery and structure, herbs and scented flowers. Wow us with your presentation of the most beautifully scented bunch.
Class 15: Decorate the Sunday lunch table – bring us your own arrangement. *UNDER 12 CLASS*

Garden Produce Classes

£2 per class entry

Class 16: Vegetables – a bold display of veg from your garden.

Class 17: A bowl of beautiful home grown fruit.

Class 18: Show us your carrots!

Class 19: Soft Fruits – from strawberries to gooseberries, blackcurrants to raspberries, what have you been feasting on this year?

Class 20: Bring your happiest sunflower! *UNDER 12 CLASS*

N.B. –

Water will be available in the tent to top the vases up on arrival and all entries must be from your garden or local hedgerows!!

Prizes!

Entries will be accepted from 9am – 11.30am at the Flower & Produce Marquee, just by the main ring

Each entry costs £2.00

Judging will commence at 12 noon. Please state if you will be collecting the entry after 3pm or donating to the show.

1st in each class will be awarded: A winning rosette and a £10 Groves gift voucher

2nd in each class will be awarded: A winning rosette and a £5 groves gift voucher

3rd in each class will be awarded: A winning rosette

Cass Titcombe

Chef-proprietor of Brassica Restaurant & Mercantile in Beaminster, and Brassica Forno in Bridport, has extensive experience in the restaurant industry. Having worked at Daphne’s in South Kensington he went on to set up various restaurants before opening the award-winning chain, Canteen, celebrating British Food. He is judging the food classes and is looking for flavour, presentation and clever use of seasonal ingredients.

Louise Chidgey

co-owner of Brassica Dorset with her husband Cass Titcombe. Louise has more than thirty years’ experience in design, retail & hospitality. She worked as a senior buyer at the Conran Shop and has become a well-respected content and product designer. She will be judging the vegetables and flowers and will be looking for original presentation and style.
